What a cyber security gap analysis actually involves
A gap analysis isn't a generic "cyber health check": it's a control-by-control comparison of where your business actually stands today against a defined standard, usually Cyber Essentials. The output isn't a vague risk score; it's a specific list of the exact things stopping you from passing, in plain English, with evidence to back each one up.
In practice that means working through the same five areas the standard covers: firewalls, secure configuration, patching, access control and MFA, and malware protection, one control at a time, checking real evidence rather than taking "yes, we do that" at face value. Each control gets marked as met, partially met, or missing, and every gap gets weighed by how serious it is: some are a quick fix, others (like a missing MFA on an admin account) will block certification outright until they're closed.
The free 5-minute check on this site is the fast, self-serve first pass. It'll flag the most common gaps in minutes. Run it now to see where you stand, or book a free advisory call afterwards for the full walkthrough and a prioritised plan to close what's left.
